Descriere
Modern equality is built against the feudal idea of immovable assignment of social roles according to the classification of individuals. It is a dynamic equality, which implies the social hierarchy of individuals on the basis of merit. In order to build this dynamic equality, modern liberal legal systems impose equal opportunities, which include equalization of start, of access and of result, understood as fair redistribution. This article details these forms of equality, which imply a hierarchy in relation to merit. The resulting equality is an equalization of the opportunities to position oneself differently in a hierarchy that is no longer natural.
